There are multiple government funding routes — we assess your household free of charge and identify which scheme you qualify for.
Flagship — Runs to 2028
Warm Homes: Local Grant
The UK government's primary home energy scheme. Wider eligibility than ECO4 — this isn't only for the lowest-income households.
- Household income of £36,000 or less
- EPC rating of D, E, F or G
- Owner-occupier or private tenant in England
- Full cost of improvements covered — no contribution
Wider than you think: A couple each earning £18,000 qualifies. A single earner on £35,000 qualifies.

ECO4 Scheme
Government-backed energy efficiency scheme funded through large energy suppliers. No successor scheme is planned — act soon.
- Funded through obligated energy suppliers
- Improves home energy efficiency for qualifying homes
- Available across England, Scotland and Wales
- Based on income-related benefits or EPC criteria
Important deadline: ECO4 ends permanently on 31 December 2026. There is no ECO5. If you receive qualifying benefits, apply now.
Grant — Runs to 2030
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
A government grant for homeowners in England & Wales replacing a fossil-fuel boiler (gas, oil, LPG or electric) with a low-carbon heat pump — paid straight to your installer.
- £7,500 off an air or ground source heat pump
- £9,000 for eligible off-grid oil & LPG homes
- No EPC requirement — now extended to 2030
- Your MCS-certified installer applies via Ofgem
Example: a £12,500 heat pump install − £7,500 grant = you pay just £5,000 (or £3,500 for eligible off-grid homes).
